LTR - Details & Registration

A full session consists of two (2) land-based orientation training days and eight (8) on-water training days
The land-based training sessions take place at at Roosevelt Intermediate School
the on-water training sessions takes place at the Rutgers University Boatyard , New Brunswick

This makes a total of ten combined instructional days for a complete Learn-to-Row session.

Rowing is an endurance sport on the open water. Therefore, safety is our highest priority. We row in light rain, but never during thunder, lightning or unsafe water conditions. If any dates are cancelled due to weather conditions, make-up dates will be advised by the coaches. Typically make-ups will take place on one or both Friday(s) during your scheduled water session weeks.

due to finite boat seating NO make-up dates are available if your athlete misses their scheduled LTR on-water dates.

Every athlete who participates in rowing sessions on the water must pass a swim test .
Swim tests must be verified and forms signed by a certified lifeguard.

Click here for the downloadable Swim Test Certificate form.

When rowing, athletes should dress in comfortable, close fitting clothes.  No baggy shorts, pants, sweatshirts or tops with front pockets are allowed in the boats.  All athletes should bring a large, filled reusable water bottle on each LTR date.

The fee for LTR 2019 is $550.00 and includes 10 LTR classes (2 land-based, 8 on-water)
PLUS Wagner Session
Payment must be received before your athlete may participate.

Only two forms are necessary for the Learn to Row program:
(1) Swim Test Certificate and (2) Summer Learn To Row Registration Form.

WAGNER ROWING CAMP  We are pleased to include a 4 day camp run by Steve Wagner, head coach of Men's Rutgers Crew .  It's an excellent opportunity to get more time on the water and work on technique.
