WESTFIELD COMPETITIVE ROWING INC.
The
mission of Westfield Competitive Rowing, Inc. - Westfield Crew, is to provide financial and logistical
support to Westfield boys and girls participating and competing in the sport of crew. To aide those who wish to find
fulfillment and direction in their lives through the competitive sport of rowing. To provide the opportunity to achieve
their respective potentials and develop their character and citizenship to benefit the town, their families, themselves and
their respective future endeavors.
All teams will be comprised of
Westfield residents and individual male and female schooled students from the town of Westfield in order to compete and or
participate. Exceptions may be made by a majority of the membership. WCRI sponsored participants will be appropriately skilled
and trained at an approved rowing facility. Students we be committed to train year round and thrive in a competitive environment
as a compliment to building their future success. Westfield Crew develops rowers who understand the importance of team work
and discipline and who are always trying to improve themselves individually. Westfield Crew members will understand and
respect that rowing is the ultimate team sport as well as an individual sport. Parents are essential to the WCRI mission to
provide proper encouragement and instill good sportsmanship at all team competitions and functions.
Rowers:
Rowers who love the sport and enjoy being challenged.

who want to reach the next level and improve their own personal
achievement.

for the individual.”
Rowers who respect their coach, fellow
teammates, competetors and equipment
Parents:
Parents committed
to fund-raising and financial and logistical support, to help
improve their
children’s level of achievement and expereience.
Parents capable of supporting their children's challenging participation in a positive
way.
Parents who instill
good sportsmanship in competitive situations and who
demonstrate respect
for both the coaches and athletes.
Coaching Staff:
The Coach will be an individual who has experience rowing and who is
appropriately certified.
The Coach will determine the strengths and weaknesses of each individual
rower then work with them to help reach their maximum potential.
The Coach will not engage parents regarding matters of athletic evaluation
and competitive placement.
